Question 1

Can a bad Google review be removed?

Accepted Answer

Only if it violates Google's policies — spam, a review from a competitor, off-topic content, hate speech, conflicts of interest, or a review for a business the person never used. Genuine negative opinions cannot be removed no matter how unfair they feel, and no legitimate agency can promise otherwise. What we can do is flag the ones that actually break policy and pursue them properly, then bury the rest with volume: a steady flow of new honest reviews moves your average and pushes an old complaint off the first screen faster than any removal attempt.

Question 2

How quickly should you respond to a negative review?

Accepted Answer

Within 24 to 48 hours. Speed matters more than eloquence, because a fast, calm reply signals to everyone reading later that you pay attention. The response should thank them for flagging it, address the specific issue factually, avoid arguing about details, and offer a direct way to continue the conversation offline. Never litigate the case in public and never mention private customer information. Because reviews sync into one queue for us, nothing sits unnoticed over a weekend, which is when most damaging reviews get written.

Question 3

Is it legal to ask customers for reviews?

Accepted Answer

Asking is fine and encouraged. Paying for reviews, offering discounts in exchange for them, or only asking customers you know are happy is not — that's review gating, and it violates both Google's policies and FTC guidance on endorsements. The compliant approach is to ask every customer at the same point in your process, make it easy with a direct link, and accept whatever they write. We help build that ask into your normal workflow so review volume grows steadily and defensibly rather than in suspicious bursts that trigger filtering.

Question 4

How do reviews affect local search rankings?

Accepted Answer

Reviews are one of the stronger local ranking factors, but it's not just the star average. Google weighs review count, how recently they were written, whether you respond, and the words inside them — a review that mentions a specific service and city reinforces relevance for that search. This is why a business with forty recent reviews often outranks one with two hundred reviews from four years ago. Consistent velocity and a high response rate do more for visibility than chasing a perfect five-star average.

Question 5

Should you respond to positive reviews too?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and most businesses skip this. Responding to positive reviews raises your overall response rate, which Google notices, and it gives you a natural place to reinforce keywords and services without stuffing. A good positive reply names something specific the reviewer mentioned, thanks them like a person rather than a template, and invites them back. Generic copy-pasted thank-yous across thirty reviews look worse than no reply at all, so we vary them and reference actual details from each review.

Question 6

What does a five-star average actually look like to customers?

Accepted Answer

Slightly suspicious, as it turns out. Research on buying behavior consistently finds that ratings between 4.2 and 4.7 convert better than a flat 5.0, because a perfect score reads as filtered or fake. A handful of critical reviews with thoughtful, non-defensive responses from the owner builds more trust than an unbroken wall of praise. That's why our goal isn't a spotless profile — it's a credible one, where the negatives are visibly handled well and the volume of recent honest feedback is high.

Question 7

What if a review is factually wrong or from someone who was never a customer?

Accepted Answer

That's one of the cases worth fighting. We document what actually happened, check it against your own records, and flag the review to Google with the specific policy it violates rather than a general complaint, which is what most self-filed reports get wrong. In parallel we post a brief, neutral public reply noting that we can't locate a record of the visit and inviting them to contact us directly — that reply is really written for the next reader, not the reviewer, and it does most of the damage control while the flag is pending.

Question 8

Do you manage reviews on platforms other than Google?

Accepted Answer

Google Business Profile is where we focus, because for the overwhelming majority of local businesses it drives the most discovery and carries the most weight in local search. Our platform syncs and manages Google reviews directly. If your industry lives somewhere else — hospitality on Yelp or TripAdvisor, contractors on Houzz — we'll tell you honestly during the audit and build a monitoring routine around it rather than pretending one dashboard covers every corner of the internet.
